What Zoosk tells you before you register

More than anyone else on this page, and still not the price. Zoosk's help centre publishes a feature-by-feature breakdown of the free account against Zoosk+, which is genuinely rare here. What it will cost you appears only after you register.

What the free account does

Per Zoosk's own documentation: browse profiles, send Likes, three SmartPicks a day, and Carousel. Messaging is not included - that is Zoosk+. There is also a paid add-on called Premium Messaging that lets free members reply to you, which means the person you are talking to may have paid for the privilege of answering.

How it bills you

Subscription, auto-renewing, with paid add-ons on top. Zoosk used to run on Coins and has discontinued them - its help centre carries an article explaining what happened to them. Cancellation is documented separately for web, iOS and Android, which is more clarity than most provide.

Verification, and what it actually proves

Zoosk offers selfie-based Profile Verification and is unusually straight about its limits: it "helps confirm that you match the photos on your profile". It confirms you are the person in your pictures. It does not confirm who you are. Treat a verified badge as "probably not a stolen photo", not as identity.

What people who paid actually say

Aggregate 4.2 from 105,246 ratings. The most recent 98 written reviews average 1.4 - the lowest of any platform we pulled - with 80% at one star.

45% mention billing. The complaint that recurs is structural rather than incidental: the free tier is thin enough that the product feels unusable before you pay, and the ads sit on top of that.

Mr Bojangles Esq. - 2 stars

"Way too many ads after like more than 3 people on The carousel. Cant message or even like without paying for sub. Way too many fake profiles, catfish accounts and women directing me to their telegram for paid services."

Big1Blue3 - 1 star

"It's nothing but a waste of time and money, the pool of people are small and for the price it's not worth it."

Ixtyhbelu - 1 star

"I have been trying to use your app for about 2 months and it's still not working. I've tried several emails and it still will not work. I've contacted support but never received a response."

Zilmar - 5 stars

"Zoosk is an amazing app… Be Yourself… Make a connection!! … Like I did!! Met My Person!! THE Love I had been searching for!!"

Where it lands

Fourth. Zoosk documents itself better than anything else on this page - what the free account does, what verification proves, how to cancel on each platform. That transparency is real and it is why it sits where it does.

What it cannot escape is that the documented free tier is thin: no messaging, and a Carousel with ads. You get an honest description of a product you probably cannot use without paying.

Questions

Is Zoosk free?

There is a free account - browsing, Likes, three SmartPicks a day and Carousel. Sending messages requires a Zoosk+ subscription. Checked 10 September 2026.

Does Zoosk publish its prices?

No, but it does publish exactly which features are free and which are not, which is more than the other seven do.

What does Zoosk verification prove?

That you match the photos on your profile. Zoosk states this plainly. It is not identity verification, and it is optional.

What happened to Zoosk Coins?

They were discontinued. Zoosk's help centre carries a dedicated article about it; the model is now a subscription plus paid add-ons.

How do I cancel Zoosk?

Depends where you bought it. Zoosk documents cancellation separately for the website, iOS and Android - use the same channel you paid through.
